Taking your baby to the supermarket can be smooth sailing... but can just as easily turn into an absolute nightmare!
So that everything goes like clockwork, try these foolproof tips, categorised by stage.
Lie back and enjoy the ride
As your baby can't yet sit, taking them on a shopping trip can be a real headache. While they are unable to hold their head up straight, use a baby carrier. This accessory allows you to keep your little one close to you, but leaves your hands free to pick up that all-important shopping. Some supermarkets even offer trolleys with a baby bouncer, so make the most of it!
Your little go-getter can sit up all by themselves now. So when you take them shopping, put them in the child seat in the trolley. Why not take a cushion along to ensure your baby will be perfectly comfortable. Show them what you're buying, even if they don’t understand yet: they'll be interested anyway!
On the move
It's not always easy to get the shopping done while keeping an eye on baby. Once they know how to walk, the task gets that much harder. To ensure everything goes smoothly, ask your little one to help you. As they love doing the same as mummy, they'll have great fun helping. Your child can put things into the trolley or help to unload them out at the checkout, and all you need to do is congratulate them.
So, there are solutions for every age group. Try them out and you'll find that doing the shopping with baby soon becomes a piece of cake!
